Within the 8th Spanish Forestry Congress, held in Lleida from 27 June to 1 July 2022, we had the opportunity to show the Reference Stand Network developed in the context of the LIFE RedBosques project to a specialised audience.

A total of 217 stands have been identified in this network, through a common methodology and a set of dasometric, human footprint and spatial integrity variables. The application of a naturalness index has so far allowed the selection of a subset of 56 stands, which form the national Reference Stand Network. The results allow us to identify some forest types that are not represented in the network and some gaps in geographical representativeness that should be filled. In addition, our colleague Jordi Vayreda presented the online tool developed by CREAF for the management of the reference stand database at the Thematic Table “From data to decisions”.
