We welcomed 2023 with technical visits to the pilot areas of the LIFE RedBosques_Clima project. On 16 January we visited one of the 5 forest stands of Pinus pinaster in Castellón, in the Valencian Community, where demonstrative actions of climate change adaptation will be implemented. The technical visit aimed to ensure that the design criteria are coherent and homogeneous across all pilot areas, and to define the silvicultural actions to be implemented to increase the diversity and heterogeneity of these pine stands, which are highly vulnerable to climate change. The visit, in which all project partners attended, was an opportunity to also involve technicians and local environmental agents in the project.

The meeting was attended by technicians from the F.G. Bernáldez Foundation (FUNGOBE), CREAF Institute, Els Ports Nature Park, Regional Ministry of Agriculture, Rural Development, Climate Emergency and Ecological Transition and from the Regional Government of Castilla la Mancha. In addition, technicians from the territorial management of Castellón were present, as well as several environmental agents of the territory, who collaborate closely with the project.

In the coming months, we will visit the pilot areas in the Sierra Norte de Guadalajara Nature Park and in the Els Ports Nature Park.
