
– In January and February we collaborated with the National University of Asunción (Paraguay). Natalia Peralta-Kulik, a professor at the Faculty of Agricultural Sciences, carried out a research stay with us, where she worked on the application of the vulnerability index. The results have been incorporated into the project and have led to a presentation at the VII National Congress on Biodiversity Conservation, Misiones, Argentina.
– RedBosques_Clima was present on 28 March at the event celebrating the International Day of Forests organised by the Ministry of Sustainable Development of Castilla-La Mancha in Toledo. The event and subsequent debate were organised around forest policy, its application in the regions and the valuation of forest ecosystem services, with interesting interventions by speakers from the Ministry for Ecological Transition and the Demographic Challenge, the Polytechnic University of Madrid and the Regional Ministry of Sustainable Development itself.
– On 7 March we were invited as experts to the working session “New assessment of risks and impacts derived from climate change” as part of the Seminars of the National Plan for Adaptation to Climate Change organised by the Spanish Office for Climate Change and the Biodiversity Foundation. The aim of the session was to incorporate the perspective of experts in the new assessment of risks and impacts derived from climate change in Spain, which must be prepared as a result of the law 7/2021 on climate change and energy transition.
– On 20 April we participated in the course organised by the Junta de Castilla-La Mancha “The protected natural areas of Castilla-La Mancha as a resource for environmental education: the Cabañeros National Park”. An occasion to reach out to a highly influential audience, secondary school teachers, with a session entitled How does climate change affect protected areas and what can be done?
