On 26, 27 and 28 June, the Font Roja Natural Park hosted the course ‘Forest maturity for climate change adaptation’, taught by staff from FUNGOBE, CREAF and the Valencian Regional Government, and attended by 25 professionals from public administration, public and private companies, foundations and universities.
Over the three days, participants learned how to use the various tools developed in the project to improve the management and planning for forest adaptation to climate change in protected areas, as well as the scientific and technical framework that underpins them. The sessions were complemented by technical visits to see examples of forest maturity and management with adaptation objectives in the park, together with a visit to the pilot actions carried out in the Aitana, Serrella and Puigcampana SACs within the LIFE RedBosques_Clima project.
The sessions were preceded by three weeks of online training on the tools and technical documents, which were put into practice during the face-to-face training.
